A Day in the Life of Terry Cash the Mayflower Van Operator of the Year

Rise and shine. For drivers and packers, moving often starts first thing in the morning. Before the sun even rises, I’ll hook my truck up to the Mayflower trailer and we’re on our way to our customer’s home to begin the process.

Once we’re there, we’ll diligently pad the interior of the house. The last thing we want is to scratch up a nice house before the new residents take over. Or worse yet, make it more difficult to sell. We’re always extra careful.

Then we begin to load the trailer with protected furniture pads and labeled boxes. We pack as efficiently as possible, wasting no space. It’s like a game of real life Tetris. You’d be surprised how much we can fit in that truck.

Packed Truck

Once the house is completely packed and ready to go, we’ll perform a quick inspection and clean up. Then it’s off to our new destination.

And we’re on the road.

Sometimes, it’s a long journey with a few stops along the way.

Once we arrive at our customer’s destination, if the new home is not ready, we’ll carefully store their belongings off at the warehouse until their new home is ready.

We’ll pack it away for a few days or a few weeks at a time. However long it takes.

And once the house is ready, back on the truck it goes.

Once again, we’ll pad up their new home, taking extra precaution to get everything in its place safe and sound.
