1. Chicago Food Truck Festival 

This is the Chicago festival you don’t want to miss. It is an annual event and one of the best in the area. 

With live entertainment including bands, DJs, and games this festival boasts more than 40 food trucks with gourmet foods and something for everyone! It’s an excellent way to relax this fall, immersed in nature and tasting an assortment of cultural dishes with tasty beverages and fun entertainment.

2. Annual Apple Fest!

Welcome Autumn at the 32nd Annual Apple Festival presented by the Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce. 

Dozens of merchants participate in Apple Fest each year. You will find everything from candy apples to hats and scarves at this family event, October 5-6, 2019 in Chicago, IL. 

Select fresh apple pie, apple cider, donuts, or a whole bushel of apples!  Enjoy your apple selections over at the Lawrence Avenue Music Stage while watching local musicians perform.

Kids can have fun playing in the Leland Avenue Kids Zone. There’s something for everyone at Apple Fest!

3. Norwood Park Fall Fest

Another family-friendly event is Norwood Park Fall Fest held in Norwood Park’s historic neighborhood, September 20-21, 2019. There’s food, fun activities, and a chance to shop local businesses. 

Live music includes rock, country, and blues. While the music draws a crowd, there are also bounce houses and around 40 vendors with all kinds of offerings. 

4. Fall Fest at Lincoln Park Zoo

September 27, 2019, marks the 5th year of the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Annual Fall Fest. It’s a free, family-friendly event, though they’ve added some ticketed attractions. There’s a corn maze, corn pool, inflatables, Ferris wheel and more. 

Your kids will not want to miss the pumpkin patch or the hay mountain. They can watch professionals carve pumpkins and see the zoo staff interact with the animals with some fall-themed enrichment activities. 

5. Chicago Fall Whiskey Tasting Festival

As the leaves change color, so do the whiskey flavors. Don’t miss your chance on September 28, 2019, to try some new whiskeys from local distilleries all around the city of Chicago.  

There are food and drink specials and a chance to win a trip to the Bourbon Trail in Louisville, KY.
